The Paris Peace Conference, also known as Versailles Peace Conference, was the meeting of the Allied victors, following the end of World War I to set the peace terms for the defeated Central Powers following the armistices of 1918. It took place in Paris during 1919 and involved diplomats from more than 32 countries and nationalities. The major decisions were the creation of the League of Nations; the five peace treaties with defeated enemies, including the Treaty of Versailles with Germany; the awarding of German and Ottoman overseas possessions as "mandates," chiefly to Britain and France; reparations imposed on Germany, and the drawing of new national boundaries (sometimes with plebiscites) to better reflect the forces of nationalism. The main result was the Treaty of Versailles, with Germany, which in section 231 laid the guilt for the war on "the aggression of Germany and her allies." This provision proved humiliating for Germany and set the stage for very high reparations Germany was supposed to pay (it paid only a small portion before reparations ended in 1931).
A convention center (American English; conference centre outside the USA) is a large building that is designed to hold a convention, where individuals and groups gather to promote and share common interests. Convention centers typically offer sufficient floor area to accommodate several thousand attendees. Very large venues, suitable for major trade shows, are sometimes known as exhibition centres. Convention centers typically have at least one auditorium and may also contain concert halls, lecture halls, meeting rooms, and conference rooms. Some large resort area hotels include a convention center.
The Palace of Versailles, or simply Versailles (English /vɛərˈsaɪ/ vair-SY or /vərˈsaɪ/ vər-SY; French: [vɛʁsaj]), is a royal château in Versailles in the Île-de-France region of France. It is also known as the château de Versailles.
When the château was built, Versailles was a country village; today, however, it is a wealthy suburb of Paris, some 20 kilometres southwest of the French capital. The court of Versailles was the centre of political power in France from 1682, when Louis XIV moved from Paris, until the royal family was forced to return to the capital in October 1789 after the beginning of the French Revolution. Versailles is therefore famous not only as a building, but as a symbol of the system of absolute monarchy of the Ancien Régime.
Begun by Louis XIII in 1623, the château began as a hunting lodge in brick and stone. It was enlarged into a royal palace by Louis XIV. The first phase of the expansion (c. 1661–1678) was designed and supervised by the architect Louis Le Vau. It culminated in the addition of three new wings of stone (the enveloppe), which surrounded Louis XIII's original building on the north, south, and west (the garden side). After Le Vau's death in 1670, the work was taken over and completed by his assistant, François d'Orbay.Charles Le Brun designed and supervised the elaborate interior decoration, and André Le Nôtre landscaped the extensive Gardens of Versailles. Le Brun and Le Nôtre collaborated on the numerous fountains, and Le Brun supervised the design and installation of countless statues.
Porte de Versailles is a station on line 12 of the Paris Métro and a stop on tramway lines 2 and 3a in the 15th arrondissement of Paris.
The station was opened on 5 November 1910 as part of the stage of the Nord-Sud Company's line C from Porte de Versailles to Notre-Dame-de-Lorette. The line was taken over by the metro in 1930 and became line 12. It was the eastern terminus of the line until the extension of the line to Mairie d'Issy on 24 March 1934. The station was relocated during the extension and the area of the old station is now occupied by storage sidings.
The tramway line 3 (now 3a) stop opened on 16 December 2006 as part of the initial section of the tramway between Pont du Garigliano and Porte d'Ivry. Tramway line 2 was extended from Issy - Val de Seine to Porte de Versailles on 21 November 2009.
The station is named after the Porte de Versailles, a gate in the nineteenth century Thiers wall of Paris, which led to the town of Versailles.
Nearby are the Paris expo Porte de Versailles, Parc des Expositions (exhibition ground) and the Palais de Sports (indoor sports venue).
The International Peace Conference was an anti-war conference held on December 10, 2005. It was organised by the Stop the War Coalition (StWC), and included speakers from Iraq, the United States, and Italy.
The conference sold out a week before its occurrence, leaving many people who wished to attend the conference disappointed. 1,500 tickets were sold for the event, which was held in the Royal Horticultural Hall in Vincent Square, London. The conference began at 10 a.m. and ended at 8 p.m. 33 people spoke from the platform in four different sessions. In an unusual move, media organisations were made to pay to attend the conference. According to a StWC spokesperson, this was because the coalition had little funds, and the conference was costing £25,000 to put on.
The conference was opened by the veteran Labour Party campaigner Tony Benn. Benn told the conference delegates that the anti-war movement which is calling for troops to be withdrawn from Iraq is the biggest he had seen in this lifetime.

At the approach of its 100th Anniversary, Roman Dmowski's presentation at the Paris Peace Conference and signing of the Treaty of Versailles, this talk reviews how his positions were considerably in line with overall Polish aspirations. Dr. Alvin M. Fountain II received his Ph.D. at Columbia University in 1976. His dissertation on Roman Dmowski (Deak, Mastny, Rothschild, Erlich, Jelinek) was published in the Columbia/EEQ series. After a career in state government and university teaching (part-time), he was named Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland for Raleigh, North Carolina, in 2008. He also heads the Paderewski Piano Festival of Raleigh.

This was my third or fourth visit to the Palace of Versailles, which can be reached by a 40-minute train ride from central Paris, but the first time I've had the opportunity to video the place. The queues to access the Palace were enormous, the car park full of tour coaches, but luckily we as press visitors were able to get in via a side entrance. The crowds inside were pretty huge as well, not that I mind, it gave the place plenty of atmosphere. We were staying at the Trianon Palace Hotel, which is just to one side of the Palace grounds. You may well know about the Treaty of Versailles, which was signed here in 1919 following the German surrender of WW1. It was organised by Georges Clemenceau, and attended by Prime Minister Lloyd-George and President Woodrow Wilson. They all stayed at t...

In 1915, Jewish Reds Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht founded the "Spartacus League" (named after Illuminati founder Adam Weishaupt's code name of "Spartacus"). In 1919, the group becomes the Communist Party of Germany. That same month, the Spartacists, aided by Jewish-Hungarian Red Bela Kun, take advantage of the post-war chaos, and stage coup in Berlin. Kaiser Wilhelm, fearing the same fate as Czar Nicholas, flees to Holland. He now regrets his past liberalism and denounces the “Jewish influence" that ruined Germany. The Communist takeover of Berlin is short lived as veterans known as the ‘Freikorps’ reclaim control from the Jewish Reds and their followers. Luxemburg and Liebknecht are captured and executed. The Trianon Palace is a Waldorf Astoria Hotel situated on the edge of the Palace of Versailles gardens. Just 20 minutes from the centre of Paris, it's an alternative luxury option which offers the fine restaurants in the town as well as the Gordon Ramsay restaurant in house. The rooms are exceptionally big, many with a small veranda looking out onto the grounds. There's a spa, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and access to the park next door if you like to go jogging. Owing to the conference and meeting facilities next door, the hotel has a corporate, serious feel to it, but you may like that kind of thing. https://www.radioaryan.com/2018/04/the-international-jew-americas-jewish.html America’s Jewish enigma is Louis Marshall and this is Ted Midward’s 40th episode of his series based on Henry Ford’s ‘The International Jew’. Louis Marshall’s name headed the list of organized Jewry in America at the time this was written and he was known as the arch-protester against all things non-Jewish. He was the head of nearly every Jewish movement that ever amounted to anything and he was the chief opponent of practically every non-Jewish movement that promised to amount to something. Yet he is known mostly as a name -- and not a very Jewish sounding name at that. It is an American, or Anglo-Saxon name that has been transplanted into a Jewish family. But how and why are questions to which the publ...

Why did the German army continue to fight the Allies even in the face of certain defeat? Following the Battle of Stalingrad and defeats on other fronts in 1943, the tide had turned against the German war machine – and most German officers knew it. The Wehrmacht’s Last Stand chronicles the final campaigns of WWII in Europe from January 1944 until the Wehrmacht’s ultimate collapse and the storming of Berlin by the Red Army in May 1945. Join us as Dr. Citino traces the “death ride” of the German army and explains why millions of men kept fighting in the face of increasingly hopeless odds.

Director Albert Serra and actor Jean-Pierre Léaud discuss their new film, 'The Death of Louis XIV' at the 54th New York Film Festival. The great Jean-Pierre Léaud, synonymous with French cinema for over half a century, delivers a majestic, career-capping performance as the longest-reigning French monarch during his final days. Albert Serra’s elegant, engrossing contemplation on death and its representation finds the extravagantly wigged Sun King slowly wasting away from gangrene in his bedchamber, surrounded by devoted servants, pets and a retinue of hopeless doctors. Filled with ravishing candlelit images and painstaking details gleaned from Saint-Simon’s memoirs and other historical texts, Louis XIV is as darkly funny as it is moving, revealing the absurdity of the rule-bound royal cou...
JOHN MAYNARD KEYNES: The Economic Consequences of the Peace FULL Audiobook - The Economic Consequences of the Peace (1919) is a book written and published by John Maynard Keynes. Keynes attended the Versailles Conference as a delegate of the British Treasury and argued for a much more generous peace. It was a bestseller throughout the world and was critical in establishing a general opinion that the Versailles Treaty was a "Carthaginian peace". It helped to consolidate American public opinion against the treaty and involvement in the League of Nations. The perception by much of the British public that Germany had been treated unfairly in turn was a crucial factor in public support for appeasement. The success of the book established Keynes' reputation as a leading economist especially on t...
